Yavapai Lodge West Grand Canyon
Yavapai Lodge West Grand Canyon Reviews
Nice location in the National Park Aug 13, 2009
When visiting the Grand Canyon, if you decide to stay inside the park there are a number of options. The Yavapai is a satisfactory one - surely not the greatest, but satisfactory with a good location and friendly personnel. The lodge, which consists of a number of independent buildings where the rooms are located, as well as a main building with reception, a cafeteria and gift shop, has a large cafeteria style restaurant where you can get meals and it is very conveniently located and has ample parking as well.
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable... the maids have a bad habit of pounding on the door at 8 a.m. which was mildly irritating, but then again, why waste time sleeping with the beautiful Grand Canyon out there to see! The room, in general, including the bathroom, was clean and in good repair. The only noise at night was an occasional creaking of the floorboards above my head when the people in the room above moved around. There's a small mini bar / refrigerator in the room as well as complimentary coffee and tea. If I come back some time, I'd like to try another of the hotels inside the park, but I wouldn't mind coming back here either. Another thing to keep in mind: if you come here in the summer months, you need to reserve a room in advance. |
