Yasaiya Mei Yokohama Reviews
Traditional Japanese cuisine Shabu Shabu Dec 08, 2013
Yasaiya Mei is a restaurant located in the downtown Yokohama Lumine building located near the Yokohama train station. This restaurant features traditional Japanese cuisine known as Shabu Shabu, which consists of thinly slice meats and vegetables being boiled in seasoned water. The vegetables we had were chilled in a bucket of ice and freshly cut. They were appetizers known as Bagna Cauda (possibly imported from Italy). We took turns maneuvering our assorted sliced meats in a boiling pot, which were seasoned with plum, pepper and onion. The price for Shabu Shabu ranges from 2000 yen to 3500 for the entire meal.
For anyone who wishes to enjoy truly traditional Japanese cuisine, it is worth the patience of waiting for the wait staff to methodically process your order and then watching it simmer resulting in ultimate customer satisfaction. The deserts were stylish and not too sweet but nonetheless healthy for the more self conscious customer.
Overall, Yasaiya Mei prestigiously strays far from being a fast food restaurant and the patient customer may spent an hour and half enjoying their meal. This eatery is worth experiencing at least once.
