An amazing stay affordable stay Sep 12, 2008
We had no idea what to expect when we arrived at the airstip in Playon Chico. But our minds were soon put to rest when a very friendly local asked if we were the Martins and escorted us and several other couples to a dug out boat. We then headed directly to a close cluster of islands.

All I can say is - heaven on earth! There was a small portion of beach with a couple of chairs which worked nicely and many new cabins set over the water. The only thing to watch for is the monkey grass - be sure to wear shoes.

As soon as we were assigned our cabins we were able to put our things down and found that our cabins had a nice bed with a mosquito net, bathroom that included a shower, sink and toliet! (Not too much water pressure though) The best part though was when you go out the back and there is a wrap around deck with hammocks! Not too bad of a view either.

From there we went to the dining hut and were assigned a table where we would sit for the remainder of the adventure. They provided bottled water for each meal and excursion which was excelent and the food was not half bad either!

They also provided two tours a day - one in the morning after breakfast and then one after lunch. You could go on the trip or not and another wonderful thing was that you could decide on which tour you wanted to go on. As long as the other guests agreed - you were set.

The only issue we found was a common one and that was the language gap. I speak Spanish but the only issue was that they spoke Spanish as a second language and that was often self taught. But they can semi-understand.

The people who run the island are amazing and very nice.

I highly recommend this place to anyone and can't wait to go back someday.
