Yalta was amazing. For a typical american it was a surprise to see what a treasure is Yalta. Sure it's steeped in history - the palaces, the treaty, etc. But the beautiful lush mountains running down to the Black Sea (a misnomer) presents a landscape like Monaco or Nice along the Riviera. Yalta is develping rapidly, and expensively - with wealthy regulars from Europe and Russia. I recommend it highly as a vacation destination for beauty, culture and history. Put Yalta on your must list!
