YHA Patterdale has recently been given a bright, retro makeover to match the unique 1970s building, with original artwork throughout. This fantastic, friendly YHA is situated in the stunning scenery just south of Ullswater, perfect for exploring the surrounding ridges and fells. The energetic will want to scale Helvellyn or try mountain biking and rock climbing. Those after a relaxing break can chill out on the Ullswater steamers, and there is a sports massage clinic on site. YHA Patterdale is a great place for a party and Irish Ceilidhs, Salsa weekends, and special meals can all be organised for you. Plenty of toys, games and DVDs are available to keep children entertained and there are pubs in the village and more cafes and restaurants in nearby Glenridding. Great for: Families, groups and individuals to explore the surrounding countryside. Need to know: Families are very welcome.
