Yup, it happened. It's the first time something like this has happened to me while travelling, and to be honest, it was my fault. We spent the morning wandering around town - we saw the Great Goose Pagoda, had a MacDonald's lunch and found our way into the Muslim Quarter. We bought a few souvenirs and went to the Mosque. We thought it was prayer time as there were lots of people in white caps - all the men made their way to the far end of the Mosque, while the women gathered slightly further…

 Another overnight train ride. Hard Sleeper. Was ok. Anyway am still suffering from the cold so I jsut want to curl up in bed and try to get rid of it. Xian. Nice city. It has the most complete old city walls in China. You can get up on them and walk around for abit. The hostel I'm at is called the Shuyuan Hostel, right at the south wall. Unfortunately the local council has decided to widen the road running inside the city wall and have knocked down the front of the hostel. No idea why …
