I was 17, and excited to be embarking on my first overseas trip without my family. Culture shock, straight up. It was a really valuable trip; I learned and saw a lot. But it was HOT, and Hong Kong was depressing. I ended up taking off a week earlier than planned. I will be back one day.

From North to the South of a big, big country...

I am leaving in September 2006 for New Zealand. I am stopping off in China to do a 3 week overland tour from Beijing to Hong Kong before heading off to New Zealand for 12 months on a working holiday visa.

Went to Xian and a few other places in China. Was kind of a buddhist pilgrimage cum sightseeing trip. Was great fun.

In 2000 I started to travel around the EurAzian continent. Not in one vacation ofcourse, there is work waiting for me at home, but in leg of 6 weeks. Every journey is about 3000 km long.

My parents and I went on a short tour of China in the summer of 2005. We visited Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai, Guilin, and Hong Kong! Our tour group was kickass...hope my parents never find out what actually happened that night in Shanghai...
