Xel Ha Jan 09, 2009
I think my pictures definetely do not do justice for Xel Ha. On our way there, our guide told us that Xel Ha was like a lil brother to Xcaret. However, we only did one thing and one thing only here, which is snorkeling. Once we arrived at the park, the first thing on my mind was "food". I know I'm a pig. What's great is that you pay $100 and it's all inclusive. Literally drink and eat all you want. I don't think we took too much advantage of that. As far as the drinks, I'll leave that up to Kristy and Ken's review. The first thing we wanted to do is go snorkeling. You can jump in from anywhere or you can start from the start of the river which for me is absolutely the coolest thing EVER! You can either take a bus (train) to the river or ride a bike. Once you get to the river, you can either get on an inner tube or just snorkel. I wanted to float on an inner tube but didn't mind the snorkeling either. Wow, the start of the river was amazing. Once you get out to the opening, on the right hand side was a mini cliff jump. We stopped for a little bit to rest up and I keep staring at the jump and almost did it but didn't. You really do not see alot of fish until you get to the main area. I just can't believe we were in the water snorkeling for 2.5 hours. There is another side of the bay that we did not explore. Guess have to save it for next time.

Pro:

* Beautiful setting.

* Adventurous snorkeling

* All Inclusive

* Decent food

Con:

* Can't really think of any

I loved Xel-ha too. The fishes were HUGE. But I almost drowned at the underwater caves area. My fault because I panicked because I couldn't feel the ground. I was saved by a fellow tourist, Oct 2001.

Xel-Ha, chill out relaxing day swimmin with the fish! Jun 09, 2003
If you enjoy a lot of water and swimming and fun to go along with it... Xel-Ha is a great day out. Swimming with the fish as people feed them around you, you get up and close with them. Water is perfect as sea water hits natural spring water. Great value for money and a great way to chill for the day.

Buy A CHEAP underwater camera thats all I did about £10 takes 24 pics, brill for this type of day out and fits in your bag real easy!
