In the fiction novel “ Da Vinci Code” by Dan Brown, the word “plankton” does not appear. In this blog, the words giraffe, internet, and schematic, and the term “we’re not in Kansas any more” appear once, and very early at that.

The plan: a 3 week car trip covering as many sites as we can fit. About 4,500 miles, and include California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming and back again. Many National Parks. It ended up over 5,200 miles, 1,800 pictures.

I wanted to do something fun and different as a travel blog. And although this blog will be more for the photos than the trip, hopefully you will get a glimps of the area. The photos were taken over quite a few different excursions around the county.

Four days in Reno to refresh our batteries, visit our son, win a bundle of money, eat great food, take a couple of side trips, shoot as many pictures as we can and enjoy ourselves as much as possible.

Two or three times a year we like to get out of the valley to visit the coast, even if it's just for lunch.

Thirty five days covering ten countries in Europe and the U.K. I took 1900 pictures, many of which can be seen here. We had two 15 day tours through Brendan Tours, with a couple of extra days in London. Come look, comment and smile. Thanks.

From home we traveled north through Oregon to Seattle, Washington to visit a couple of cousins. This was spring time and we wanted to see as many waterfalls as we could find on our way back south through Oregon.
