a little pricey, but nice location Jun 29, 2008
The Wyndham Downtown is a nice, slightly upscale hotel approximately 2 blocks from the Michigan Ave shopping district, and about 15 blocks from the museum district. The room was relatively unremarkable, but pleasant and clean. All the standard amenities are available (WiFi, TV, Pay-Per-View, swimming pool, exercise room, very tasty room service). If you do plan on going, sign up ahead of time with the hotel rewards program even if you are not a frequent client, because it will get you free WiFi access and a welcome snack. The hotel is situated in a relatively congested area of downtown, meaning you are very close by to restaurants and coffee shops, but also meaning alot of the rooms do not have a view of anything besides the building next door.
I stayed at the Wyndham in downtown Chicago in March of 2008 on business. I found my room on hotels.com and it was about $150/night cheaper than the hotel website. |
