Wyndham Hotel Airport Milwaukee

I stayed at this hotel the night before and night after my trip flying out of Milwaukee's General Mitchell Airport.

I bid on priceline.com and received this 3* for a steal. I paid only $35/night.

With that said, for $35 a night it was a great bargain. If I had paid full price of $89 I would have been kind of mad as it was marginally clean. Bathroom tub drains in both rooms I had were either REALLY slow to plugged completely.

Beds were clean and very comfortable though in both rooms.

On priceline the default for rooms is a smoking room. Both check-ins, however, the front desk offered to me a non-smoking room, which was wonderful.

To get to the non-smoking rooms one has to take an elevator to the 2nd floor, pass through the smoker's hall, which is disgusting, and finally reach the non-smoking corridors at the back of the hotel. Once inside my room was VERY dimly lit. Even with all the lights on in the hotel it was still dim. I can't imagine how anyone could work in such a dark room if staying there for business.

The first room (2226) overlooked a parking lot, the 2nd room (2250) had a nice view of the pool. The first room had many defects including the thermostat on the wall - it was mostly a dial with wires sticking out of it. Also, the lock on the door was almost ineffectual as it appears to have been broken and repaired several times. (see photo)

Each room had a coffee maker in it featuring Wolfgang Puck coffee pods. Coffee makers appeared clean and very usable.

The free shuttle goes to the airport on the 1/2 hour 24/7. A great service, and is basically what pushed this stay at the price mentioned from fair to good.

The USA Today newspaper is delivered to each room every morning, which was a nice touch. This hotel is a great place that is cheap to stay in if you have to catch an early flight.
