The Best Wurst in Vienna! Mar 11, 2008
This place is rated in the Lonely Planet as a must see destination and home to the best Wurst/sausages in Austria.

However, forget the book, and make a bypass there yourself while you are strolling through Vienna. It's only a step away from the main strip through the city and while you are munching on the single best wursts in the country you can watch the famous Anker clock hanging overhead.

This place is busy at any time of the day and the menu is available in many different languages. At night time, the famous Bermuda Triangle (Bermuda Driag) nightclub/bar scene is also just around the corner and no trip home should occur without a detour here...

I recommend a käsekrainer hotdog and take it with senf (mustard) and ketchup. They will say 'sharf odor suss' for the mustard which just means 'sweet' or 'sour'.

You can also buy many other sausages, snacks and drinks here.

Mahlzeit! (Bon apetit)

TYoungTX says: The national dish of Austria is supposedly one called Tafelspitz, and one of the best places to try it is Plachutta in Vienna. This restaurant has ten different varieties of Tafelspitz -- all based on the cut of beef used to make the dish. It was the favorite dish of the Emperor Franz Josef. ...
GW1971 says: The restaurant Hollmann Salon is run by the same people as the hotel Hollmann Beletage, which is just around the corner. It is located in the first district of Vienna, the city centre, in an old courtyard "Heiligenkreuzerhof". The scenery is very beautiful and peaceful. Perfect for relaxing from all...
