Very informative museum Aug 14, 2008
Wounded Knee: The Museum is small but packed full of information concerning the history leading up to and after the Wounded Knee Masscre. Admission to the museum is $ 5.00. The exhibits at the museum range from the Native American treaty process, the history of the Ghost Dance and it's meaning, the Wounded Knee encampment, and a blow by blow account of what happened that December morning. I found the whole museum not only very enlightening but also very sad. There is a room of survivor quotes with what people witnessed that day and the story of a baby who was found among the carnage, one of 5 who survived the massacre. The museum has other exhibits in development. If you have any interest in Native American culture, history or just want to something to do, I would highly recommend this museum.
