Woodley Park, a great neighborhood in the heart of Washington DC Jun 11, 2012
Ok, so I’m bias. The first thing that makes this neighborhood special to me is that it is the place I call home. I have been living here for a few years now and I’m planning on calling it home for a long time to come. Aside from that, there are others features that make the neighborhood worth of visiting, and even better, staying here.

For visitors, the location is superb. It is located in the heart of Washington DC and it has its own metro station. The neighborhood is just a very short and easy metro ride (10-15 minutes) from downtown and the mall area. There are two really big hotels in the neighborhood; the Onmi Shoreham and the Marriot Wardman. Together, they have around 2,000 guest rooms and 100 meeting/event rooms. I believe they can be a bit expensive, but if you can afford them, I strongly recommend you stay in one of them. They do host a lot of national and international conferences in these hotels, and along with the National Zoo, they are the main drivers of the economic activity of the neighborhood. Speaking of the Zoo, it is located just a 10 minute walk from the metro station. There around 20 restaurants catering to conference goers, tourists and locals alike. They are all located within less than a quarter mile ratio (most of them on Connecticut Avenue), so you won’t have to walk very much to visually scan them before you make your choice for dinner. One of the main features of the neighborhood is that the Adams Morgan and DuPont Circle neighborhoods are just within walking distance here. These neighborhoods thrive with lots of restaurants and night life. I did another review on Adams Morgan, so you can look that one up for more info.

Lastly, if you should decide to visit or stay in the neighborhood, send me an email, we’ll have a beer, and will tell you more about the neighborhood and eh city in general.

nice spot to roam through in DC Aug 27, 2012
Well, I agree, Woodley Park is nice and it's one of many lovely neighborhoods in DC. I used to grace several restaurants on Connecticut avenue, but parking can be a bit of a hassle. If you metro in DC, you have several options in the region and can easily walk to the zoo.

Two of my favorite spots are two Indian places over there. There is a Thai restaurant and a southern spot that used to be there has no since been replaced. Some places offer discounted or free parking, so you can make some calls before you leave your home or hotel room.
