An exciting day howling with the wolves Jun 24, 2011
My son and I decided to take a day trip to the Wolf Park in Battle Ground, IN. Admission is 5 and under free, 5-13 $5, and adults $7. You walk through a cute little butterfly garden to the front door/ gift shop. You pay for your entrance fee and you walk outside to the park. To the right you have the main pack pen, which most of the wolves were there to greet us and to the left you have the fox pen. The park has a nice walking trail which volunteers give tours every 15 minutes on. You meet their coyotes, senior wolves, and bison. On fridays and Saturdays they have Howl Nights (May 1- Nov 30 and only on saturdays Dec 1- April 30) starting at 7:30 pm, price is the same as admission. They also have special events such as Bison hunting, Santa visits the park, parties, and photo shoots, which are all listed on the site. The trip was very educational. Great for school trips! I got some wonderful pictures of the wolves and my son and I had a lot of fun. I plan to go there again before the year is over so I can attend one of their photo shoots and I get to be in the pen with the wolves! Don't worry they are all hand raised and tame!
