Cheap but excellent Chinese food in the RLD Apr 26, 2009

If you find yourself wandering around the red light district in Amsterdam and looking for good, healthy, cheap Chinese food then look for Wok To Go.

This restaurant is one of a chain of restaurants in Holland. Luckily, this outlet is open from 11:30 - 02:00 during the week and stays open until 04:00 on Friday and Saturday.

The Wok was really handy for me and I ate here twice during my 6 day stay. I really liked the Thai Curry Chicken. Tender white meat chicken with carrots, bamboo and broccoli in a spicy Thai green curry sauce and coconut milk. It was only 5.50 euros and with a coke it came to under 8 euros.

The next time I visit Amsterdam I will be sure to visit the Wok to Go.

A lunch stop was made at Wok and Go noodles once again after the Heineken Experience. This was followed by an afternoon spent cowering from the sun in a cafe called the Doors, where we embarked on a huge card playing marathon. The rest of the day was very low key, as we didn… Day 29 - Keep Your Hands Off My Heine!

This got our appetite up and we headed for dinner at Wok and Go noodle shop, which was kinda like a Chinese fast food outlet, and was surprisingly nice. Fed and watered, we continued our walk which took us to the red light district. This place is a must see. The main stretch consists of 2 sides… Day 28 - Who Is Charlie?

Visiting the museums was great though, as we managed to escape the sun. We introduced Niki to the delights of Wok and Go noodle for dinner and saw out the night in a coffee shop, playing cards and watching the Italy Vs Germany game. No beers tonight though, as the chocolate milk was flowing! … Day 30 - Niki Arrives!
