Wirral Overview

The Wirral peninsular is located in the North West region of England in the county of Merseyside. As a peninsular, Wirral has water on three sides, The River Mersey to the East, The Irish Sea to the North and the River Dee to the West.

The Mersey areas of the peninsular are more industrial with a strong shipbuilding heritage having produced such famous ships as The Ark Royal at shipbuilders Cammell Laird. The view from this side of Wirral is dominated by the famous Liverpool waterfront.

The Dee areas of the peninsular are more rural with views of Wales and the Snowdonia Mountain range.
