Winterhaven Hotel Miami

Last year in Miami we stayed on Collins Ave, about a 10 min walk from the bright lights of Ocean Drive. This year however, we paid a little bit more to be parked up on the beach for the entire week. My first impressions of this hotel, located on Ocean and 14th St, were average at best. The ten hour flight and ridiculously early start probably didnt help much! As the days went on though, its location directly opposite the beach really became very useful. The staff were always friendly, calling taxis, giving local advice etc. Flawless. The room was small but only slept there, so that was fine. The lobby was a
stunning Art Deco masterpiece. Very relaxing place to be! The free continental breakfasts were most welcome and the self service waffle machine, once grasped, was a delight! Mmm! We sat on the little terrace most mornings, enjoying the early heat, watching Ocean Drive wake up. That is what I will probaby remember most about this cute hotel. Oh, and the brilliant roof terrace with stunning views to the beach and to downtowm Miami. Would definately stay there again, and I recommend it to anyone who doesnt mind paying a bit more for a great location. This was Miami at its very best :D
