Winter Park Overview

Winter Park is nestled against the western slope of the Continental Divide, just a short drive from Denver. With stunning scenes of the divide on one side and a lush beautiful valley on the other, Winter Park has become far more than just a great ski destination.
Downtown lies at 9,100 feet and the resort mountain skies to 12,060 feet. Winter Park is a perfect mix of small town atmosphere combined with world class skiing and a charming ski town vibe. People are laid back and friendly. Winter Park is a great place to kick back, relax, and enjoy all the wonderful year-round recreation, shopping, lodging, and dining opportunities.
Once the snow melts away and ski season packs it in for the summer, the town is brimming with summer activities to satisfy all palates. Mountain biking and hiking are both wildly popular. White water rafting, horseback riding, boating, and ballooning are also fun summer activities.
As with all Colorado ski towns, there is no shortage of festivals and special events going on year round.
