Roadtrippin' through western USA. Didn't plan ahead more than a few days. Had a lot of fun, especially in Vegas! Roundtrip Phoenix-Grand Canyon-Albuquerque-Denver-Yellowstone-Salt Lake-Bryce Canyon-Zion Canyon-Las Vegas-Sequoia NP-Pacific coast-Hollywood-Joshua Tree NP-Phoenix About 8.500 km (5.300 mi).

Standin On A Corner

 As I was leaving Walnut Canyon, feeling pretty low about the damage to the 200mm telephoto lens, I suddenly had the urge to go to Winslow, Arizona and stand on the corner there.The trip down I-40 took about an hour and I found my way to the infamous corner. There I stood, and such a fine sight to see. I didn't see a girl in a flatbed Ford, but I saw the truck, parked right on the corner. This is one of those full circle trips for me. Even with a dire deficiency in the vacation time I have I had to make this one happen. This is a week in a car with my mom and my 11 year old niece.

Winslow and the Meteor Crater

Headed to NM today via Flagstaff, Winslow and the Meteor Crater.  You can't believe how big the hole of the crater actually is... 20 football fields could fit at the bottom. The sides are really steep but somehow stray cows end up at the bottom from time to time.  NASA sent the astronauts there to train before we went to the moon as the landscape is very similar (except we have gravity...haha).  Then we headed to in to Winslow, made famous by the Eagles.  Had to stop at th...
