Devine Wine Bar at Parkview Square Sep 03, 2009
This is undoubtedly one of the most intruiging buildings in Singapore!
It`s Art Deco, Gotham City and a lot more. If you take a closer look, you can see gargoyles and enormous figures holding globes at the top of the structure. The base courtyard is worth a look. The exterior surface of the building is clad in brown Granite, bronze, lacquer, and glass. Since the first time it caught my eyes I've been fascinated by this building. I heard it housed also a bar, so I had to check that out one time. There is lots of interior detail. If you order a preferably expensive bottle, one of the waitresses will fly up to take it from the wine rack for you, like a silver fairy rising for the occasion. Drinks are on the expensive side, but I think its worth it just to experience this totally unexpected side of Singapore. Parkview Square was opened in 2002, and the upper floors house offices. Besides commercial office space, Parkview Square also houses several embassies. The closest MRT station is Bugis. From there walk up Rochor Road and turn left on to North Bridge Road. You will undoubtedly have seen Parkview Square by then. |
