Williamsburg Bridge Sep 10, 2013
Williamsburg bridge was my target for a nice New York sunset and view of the Manhattan. Way to go there included riding the subway from Manhattan to Williamsburg and then walking the Bedford Avenue all the way to the bridge. Walk is just perfect in the nice NY afternoons. It is fairly easy to climb onto the bridge over the large ramp that is also perfect for bicycle ride. Bridge is super protected with wire fence which will disturb your view and picture taking, but they see it as necessity. Lots of people use the bridge and traffic could be very frequent. View of the sunset is obstructed by construction, but the light is beautiful any way.

Not as Picturesque Nov 03, 2011
The Williamsburg Bridge (Willie B) is a suspension bridge. While walking or cycling over the Willie B is one of the quickest way to travel from the Lower East Side of Manhattan into the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, the scenery is limited. The “Willie B” does not have the same recognition as the Manhattan Bridge, and while not as picturesque as the Brooklyn Bridge, it is known for having unique graffiti art work. The pedestrian walkway and bicycle path on the bridge are clearly marked, so keep in your lane. The chain fencing on the bridge prevents walkers and cyclists from getting a good view of the East River and surrounding neighborhoods on both sides of the bridge. Trains travel on tracks that are installed in the middle of the bridge and can clearly been seen when walking/cycling over the bridge. The Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge can be seen from the pedestrian walkway, but the chain fencing does inhibit ones view. The Manhattan entrance to the Williamsburg Bridge is located at Clinton Street and Delancey Street, while one the Brooklyn entrances can be found at Bedford Avenue and South 6 Street in the Williamsburg section.
