Williams Overview

Williams, also known as "The Gateway to the Grand Canyon", is a beautiful historic town with a delightful hotel in the center of town. The hotel sits next to the train station with trains that will take you directly to the Grand Canyon. It also has a great buffet, comfortable beds, and tons of outdoor activities.

Not only is the town known for the train depot, but also for the home made pies that come from many of the local restaurants. The town is surrounded by the Kaibab National Forest and has lakes for fishing, with excellent camping spots.

Even during the summer months, the town doesn't get so busy that you are overwhelmed with tourists. When you go to Williams, make sure you take your time to walk the streets and relax in this small mountain town. Winters are great here too!

The above is all true. Williams is a good place to hang around in town in the shade of the ponderosa pines. You might as well get your supplies in this pleasant place.
