Williams is a beautiful historic town with a delightful hotel in the center of town. The hotel is on a train track which will take you directly to the Grand Canyon, has a great buffet, comfortable beds, and tons of outdoor activities.
The town is surrounded by the forrest, water play for fishing, boating, or swimming and excellent camp spots. Right outside of town is a deer park where you can walk around feeding, petting and admiring tons of critters and a great place to take the kids.

Williams is the I-40 town that you stop at to visit the Grand Canyon, the best I can tell. The Grand Canyon Railway leaves from Williams and takes two and a half hours to get to the Canyon. That sounds like it might be fun.

Phil and I took a bus to the Grand Canyon for a day. It wasn't enough time to really appreciate the canyon but we have promised eachother to make it a goal to hike into the canyon one day!
