Der Regen von gestern hat sich heute noch fortgesetzt. Das zarte Grün, das ich auf den noch braunen Wiesen erahnen konnte, ließ mich glauben, der Frühling sei nahe, doch weit gefehlt: Kurz vor Prince George hat mich tiefster Winter und heftiger Schneefall überrascht. It's hard to think back and recall exactly what was where on this trip and I may have had this place in the wrong order, but these pictures are from a place called Moose Meadows. It was a little disappointing compared to what we had already seen and the weather was poor. We didn't bother going on the canoe trip, but stayed undercover playing cards dressed really warmly. Nice drive to here, from Clinton. Stayed at the Drummond Motel, where the hotel owners were very friendly - I think they were Korean. Nice bit of wildlife to be found at Scout Island. Quite a bit of the town is taken up by the timber industry. The timber industry seems to be suffering at the moment - with problems with pine beetles/fungus and also with the strong Canadian dollar; there are two week shutdowns coming up, as the mills cannot afford to run.
