Wille Monte Rosa Zakopane Reviews
Average hotel in Zakopane, better known for its restaurant Jul 30, 2014
Most of the hotels in Zakopane are big and modeled on the wooden villa style of older times. This hotel, Willa Monte Rosa, was no different. The staff was rather silent and hardly spoke any English, but since tourism in Zakopane is so much catered toward domestic travel, this is not very surprising. The standard room here, and in most hotels in Zakopane, seems to be a double room. Singles are very hard to find. Maybe this is simply more the standard for traveling Poles, I don’t know. In any case I got the feeling that this hotel usually received Poles in families and was not used to single traveling foreigners. There was a man who greeted me warmly every day and he might have been the owner, I don’t know.
The rooms in Monte Rosa are reasonably priced for the double bedroom that you get, also when traveling by yourself. The beds and the bathroom are all just fine. Breakfast is downstairs in the restaurant, which is part of the same complex. I had to pay the room in advance, which I did not expect and haven’t seen elsewhere. The location is close to the main road of the city, but keep in mind that it is at the downhill side of the city, so it is all walking upwards when you leave the hotel.
