Seafood with a View Apr 15, 2012
The Park Ranger at George Washington's Birthplace National Monument recommended Wilkerson's in Colonial Beach as a place for lunch. We're always in the mood to find a good seafood restaurant and so headed into town, just a few miles away from the historic site.

No disappointments here! The restaurant is located right on the water, with a great view across the wide Potomac River to the Maryland shore. The food matches the view. The waitress brought a basket of warm Hush Puppies to start. All main courses include the Salad Bar. It is not large, but there was plenty to find on it for our salads. I ordered Grilled Rockfish with a Baked Potato and Susan Grilled Sea Scallops. Both were very good! (They took a while to come out, but were worth the wait.) Afterwards, our waitress offered to provide us with iced tea to go.

We'll be back when we are exploring more historic sites in the Northern Neck.

A year later in Spring 2013 we were back again! This time I ordered Bacon-Wrapped Grilled Scallops, the special of the day. A very interesting twist! Again, the main course was accompanied by Salad Bar and a Baked Potato.
