Affordable Luxury in the middle of the action near khao san, bangkok Sep 05, 2011
Affordable Luxury in the middle of backpackers paradise.

This hostel/hotel is just off of Khao San Road, if you go down the road which is opposite the police station (with the big yellow bank of the corner) at the end of Khao San Road, then keep walking follow the road round (about a 2 minute walk) past the 7/11 keep going then right and its just there :)

Yes it is a little bit more expensive than the usual in the Khao San area but I believe you get what you pay for and as iv normally just got off a stupidly long flight or bus journey I need that little bit of extra comfort.

Bangkok is not that clean a place and can get very hot and sweaty so this place is just a little piece of heaven! (No offence to Bangkok, I love the place)

The hotel has private and dorm rooms, I have only ever stayed in the private rooms.

The hotel offers air con and fan rooms aswell as hot showers.

The rooms are really spacious, clean and have beautiful Thai furniture throughout. The hotel/hostel also has a late bar with a great atmosphere, luggage room, internet and a restaurant with great thai and western food.

The place also allows you to use its sisters hotel’s swimming pool which is just down the road – top tip, the sister hotel rooms are exactly the same, hotel is exactly the same however prices are more expensive.

Also its more expensive to book online than to just turn up and book!!

Nice Hostel Jan 09, 2011
Stayed here for a couple of nights in January with a group. Its a good location for koh san road if you are a first time visitor to bangkok. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. There is internet access and the cocktails are yum!

Convenient, comfortable and cash-friendly Oct 13, 2008
I haven't spent very much time in Bangkok, so my knowledge of accommodation and eateries is quite limited. That said, out of the few places I have stayed, Wild Orchid Villa has been a favourite of ours for convenience and value.

Located in the bustling district of Banglamphu, it affords you easy access to many of the big sights of Old Bangkok (the Grand Palace, the Emerald Buddha and the Chao Phaya River). For those wanting to party with the backpackers or do some market shopping, then Khao San road is just a hop skip and jump away (but not too close for those who would like to avoid it). If you fancy travelling a bit further afield, then you can hop on one of the many ferries and travel down the river to your destination or the MRT/BTS that can take you into central Bangkok.

As for the guesthouse itself, the rooms were clean and had all the basics. They have a variety of rooms for all different budgets (ranging from THB250 to THB1500). We stayed in a nicer room, which we found to be perfect for what we were after.

There's also a fairly reasonable restaurant downstairs, though after living in Chiang Mai we found it to be a bit expensive and less than authentic in some cases. Overall, however, it wasn't too bad and very easy if you're feeling lazy. If you're on more of a budget there are a ton of food stalls very close by, as well as a good selection of restaurants of varying cuisine.

In addition to rooms and grub, they also provide guests with internet (at an extra charge, of course!) and a travel agency that will help you organise both tours around the city and travels to other parts of Thailand and Southeast Asia.

All in all, I'd say this is a great place to stay if you're a newbie in the bustling metropolis of Bangkok and looking for a reasonable, safe and convenient place to stay.

God,cheap and god food and hangout area Dec 08, 2008
This is quite a nice place to stay. the rom is the normal matchbox. But that is what you get for 200 baht here. Make sure you check the mosquito netting around the window properly, if there are any holes you will be eaten alive. The bathroms are clean. The downstairs resturant has good food, and there is even some internet access there.

There is a very nice little hang-out spot connected to the place with some sofaes where the guests can hang out reading, and meeting other people. I play it safe every time I go to Bangkok and stay here.
