Wilanow Museum Palace Warsaw Reviews
Truly disappointing gardens Jul 22, 2008
We were highly disappointed by the Wilanow gardens. Often compared to the French Versailles, we at least expected them to be nicely maintained. But instead, we found a construction yard full of "no entry" signs, muddy roads, noise and machinery.
If the lady at the entrance at least would have told us this, things wouldn't have been so bad. But instead, she said nothing and charged us full price for this misery. And even if the place would have been clean and finished, it still isn't worth a visit in my opinion. The garden is small and nothing special. Better visit the free Lazienski park if you want to walk around some trees and flowers. This place is worthless.
I can't speak for the palace as we were so pissed after our stroll trough the "gardens", that we didn't bother to visit. It looked nice from the outside, but we had spotted a ladder behind one of the windows and concluded that the inside might have been under construction to. So we didn't take the risk of having to watch another collection of tools and buckets of paint.
Maybe we just we unfortunate to end up here at the wrong time, yet still Wilanow didn't impress me. I would definitely not recommend it to anyone.
