Wigan Overview

Wigan, most identified by it's highly successfull rugby team and production of pies is a traditional english workingmans town and is situated in the North west of england.

Wigan neighbours St.Helens and the two towns have a common ground, rugby league. Wigan warriors V Saints is often an epic rugby match on boxing day. The warriors was founded in 1872 and are the most successful club in the history of British rugby league. They won 19 League Championships - including 2 Super League Grand Final victories along with 18 Challenge Cups and 3 World Club Challenge trophies.
The DW Stadium was built in 1999 and has been home to the "Wigan Walk" since then. The Wigan Warrior fans are famous for leaving the matches early when loosing, taking the bridge from the stadium to the car park, this being branded "The Wigan Walk" from opposing fans.
