Whole Enchilada Moss Landing Reviews
Great Food + Great Atmosphere Aug 18, 2011
Im a vegetarian and their menu had more than enough of what I was looking for. Many of the folk in my wedding party are omnivores so they had a great menu for them as well especially those that like seafood. The service was great they were always around, had a smile on their face and they were very personable. Some of us order easy meals and other order harder to make meals some specialized. It all came out hot and 100% correct. I've been to Moss Landing twice in my life and each time I have stopped by The Whole Enchilada!

Delicious Mexican Coastal food. Mar 22, 2008
We've eaten here twice and I've been delighted both times!! You can eat outside on the heated patio (or inside if you prefer) where you can relax near the fountain or by the plexiglass "windows" with the view of the harbor and bay beyond. Our food was excellent both times and the free chips and salsa is a welcome plus. Be advised that the salsa is delicious but pretty hot. It burned our tongues both trips and we quickly drained the water-with big smiles on our faces! :) I would be and have been a repeat customer again and again!!!

Hello tourist trap! I have to admit, everytime I drove by this place heading to or from Monterey, I totally wanted to eat there. I mean, its name is "The Whole Enchilada"! What's not to like?
Well, how about high prices? And bland salsa? And a mole chicken that just plain sucked? Yah, the food is more Mex-inspired than Mexican, but that's to be expected. But not knowing the difference between and enchilada and a flauta, despite the NAME of the place, is kinda inexcusable.
That said, the dungeonous crab "enchilada" (actually a flauta) was actually really delicious. The seafood is fresh and the lobster cream sauce was awesome. But everthing else -- the sides, the salsa, and Sarah's mole dish in particular-- were pretty bad.
I'd suggest hitting up another seafood restaurant in the area, as the quality of the seafood seems really good. But only go to this one if you just NEED to eat at a place with a funny name, or if you love dungeonous crab flautas.

This place is actually not in the CITY of Monterey, but in Moss
Landing. It's right off the freeway, and you can't miss it. There's a
huge sign and a boat out front. There were free&fresh tortilla
chips with this deliciously spicy salsa that comes in a little
vase/jar. We ordered the fried artichokes, which is a must-have if you
go to Monterey. It was just $7, and with the chips, a total bargain! I
don't know how they did it, but the artichokes were perfectly fried and
tender - not stringy or tough at all! The waitstaff was also excellent
and attentive, with smiles all around, even though we didn't order
