If your going here to snowboard, I recommend staying in the main village. Many travel sites will give you better deals to stay outside the city in hotels that are still pretty good, but the money you save will be lost on taxis and time. I stayed in a real nice hotel in a city called Pemberton, which is great for hiking not for snowboarding. Overall, Whistler is amazing and worth the trip.
