Just back from over  rated Dublin. One word to sum it up " pit"
Streets are filthy, locals are rude and un helpful. In fact the only nice people there were the many immigrants working in pubs, hotels and shops.
There is a strong nasty edge to the place. Travelled with an American friend who was abused twice for being a " thick Yank". I ( an Englishman) was also on the end of some un-friendly comments.
In the 4 days there we witnessed 2 crimes direclty and heard of more from travellers in the hotel. Not once did I see a police man.
Keep away from Dublin, if you want to see the real Ireland then get out of there and travel to the fantastic South and West of IReland which are nothing like Dublin

You can't please everyone!!!

And you'll never see a policeman in Dublin or in Ireland because we have Gardai! And they're not armed, that's why we're so rude!!!

com/dane-cook-lyrics-struck-by-a-vehicle-c8ldrnp) and it's possible I may have let out a little chuckle when it entered my brain. True to the joke, one of the man's shoes actually flew off upon impact. Now, I can't begin to understand or explain the physics of this phenomenon, but apparently sometimes it happens. We were… Good Ol' Irish Craic

Only really worth mentioning because the guy let me have a shower afterwards, which was good, because I refused to use the ones in the hostels. Good to have friends I can rely on it has to be said, I sent the usual safety messages (his address and phone number), only to find… Dublin 2007.

I had missed the start of the last tour of the day, but the girl at the ticket podium by the door let me in to join group in progress free of charge.   Like a giant jungle gym, the prison is a mesh of bars and metal trusses.   Each claustrophobic cell was drab and creepy with plain concrete walls and one tiny window.   As the tour… an active second day in Dublin

Cool, I could just sit back and relax and let Bob get me home. We got off the plane, Bob still chatting my ear off and headed to Immigration. I had to go to the non-EU line and wasn't questioned whatsoever by a sweet old lady with a thick Irish accent. Bob and I met up again… Bob, Rugby, and the Irish
