Whale watching

North Sailing Whale watching is an award-winning company enjoying huge popularity amongst visitors to North-Iceland.
The company, located in Húsavík, has been leading in the whale watching industry in Iceland since its launch in 1995, and has carried over 200.000 passengers during this time.
Through the years, North Sailing Staff has gained a valuable experience and puts all efforts into making every journey as enjoyable and memorable as possible.

I had wanted to go for many years but it just didnt happen... I was working too much and my friends were working when I was not...

This summer (2007) me and my friends decided to go and we did. it was amazing... seeing these beuatiful animals so close... I didnt realise until then how big they are...

From the start of whale watching from Húsavík, North Sailing has spotted whales on 98% of its trips. In total 12 species have been seen in the area, but the most common ones are minke whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbour porpoises and humpback whales.
In my trip we saw only one whale... but he was having so much fun and was showing off... he was jumping and swimming close to our boat so we could see him very closely...

I am going again in 2008 :)
