Westhaven Bed and Breakfast Fort William

Our initial experience with the couple who own the Westhaven was adequate. Although they would not allow us to check in early, they picked up our luggage from the train station and later on in the day picked us up from the town centre and took us to the Westhaven bed & Breakfast. On arrival Rose Sliwinski informed us that there would be a power cut in the morning which would affect the time we could eat breakfast and shower. We would also be without power for a minimum of 1 hour. After discussing the situation in private we decided to approach Mr & Mrs Sliwinski to share our feelings that we were being inconvenienced. They admitted that they were aware of the power cut 2 days after our booking but they refused to acknowledge that we should have been informed prior to arrival.
Immediately Mr Sliwinski became verbally abusive saying that my fiancee’s face was “tripping her” and his physical presence became intimidating. He raised his voice, refused to listen to us and promptly told us that we were not welcome in his establishment. My partner and I called for a taxi, informed Mrs Sliwinski that we would be following this up, and waited patiently for our taxi outside. During our wait Mr Sliwinski drove up to us and inquired whether we would like a ride into town. We refused as his state was extremely agitated. His response to us was to inform us that we should have told him we had booked a taxi and to “get off his grass”.
My fiancée has an illness which is currently in remission, and we visited Fort William as part of her recuperation. This experience thoroughly upset both myself and my fiancée, and neither of us could believe the attitude and aggression we had experienced.
If it wasn’t for our wonderful experience at The Lime Tree our holiday in Fort William would have been ruined.
