Beautiful Little Theatre Jan 01, 2014
I try to go here at least once a year. Situated right opposite the main bus station in Leeds, it is also only a 10 minute walk from the train station. I have been in two different auditoriums here, and both were great experiences. One of them you are seated in theatre-style staggered seating, and the other is chairs in a room surrounding a small stage that you are level with. The facilities are great too; ice creams at intervals, a bar, coffee bar, restaurant serving reasonably priced and delicious lunches, you can make a real day of it there.

What an asset! Nov 22, 2010
The old Leeds Playhouse was lost in 1990 and the West Yorkshire Playhouse was built at Quarry Bank. The building is most impressive with two theatres, large bar and restaurant as well as technical workshops and function rooms. It has obtained finance from all the five Metropolitan Councils in West Yorkshire.

Numerous plays are to be found there before or after a successful London performance and the theatre has not gone short of national and world premieres. often local people will go in to eat with friends who are visiting a performance. The smaller theatre and the function rooms are often used for poetry readings and the like.
