West Sacramento Vacation Guide
A part of Yolo County, West Sacramento is a relatively new city, incorporated in 1987. Although it's status is that of a new city, there is rich history dating back 100 years.
West Sacramento is separated from the city of Sacramento by the Sacramento River. Historical reports indicate West Sacramento was settled in the Gold Rush era the same time as Sacramento. As Sacramento grew into a major city, West Sacramento retained its small town feel and growing industrial base.
It is currently home to it's own deep water port, access to major interstate highways, nearby to a commercial airport, and only minutes away from the downtown Sacramento region and State Capitol.
West Sac is also home to Raley Field, home of the Wildcats, the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland A's. The Rivercats have called West Sacramento home since 2000, being relocated from Vancouver, Canada.
