A biggest lake in Hanoi Feb 06, 2012
It's a 3-hour-walking lake, it's pretty huge. I had a wonderful afternoon when i was walking around. It was almost sunset, and drops of sunshine combined with fuzzy fog at that time made a gorgeous and a little bleak view. It will bring you

a little time for yourself to stay with your beautiful sorrow.

You can stop by any side restaurants which are located across the edge of the lake and watch the sunset.

Have a wonderful view!

Freshwater lake Mar 05, 2010
Located in the centre of Hanoi, this is the largest freshwater lake in the city and serves as a wonderful site to rest and walk around.

The area itself is surrounded by these old temples and pagodas, as well as many resturants, hotels and fancy apartments. It's a great place to visit around sunset and have a beer there too.

There are various legends that surround the nature of the lake too. For example, some believe that the lake was shaped by a fight that ensued between the ruler Lac Long Quan and a fox spirit. Others believe that the shape of the lake is because of a bufffalo struggling there after her calf disappeared there.

If you are staying in Hanoi, it is highly likely that you will be staying very near to this place. I recommend you take a quick stroll here at least once while you are in Hanoi.
