West End B&B Elgin Reviews
West End B&B Jun 02, 2013
We dropped in here when we were just driving by the main road into Elgin - the location is pretty good on the main street into the center of Elgin. If it hadn’t been located here on the main street we probably wouldn’t have found it since we weren’t really looking at the side street of town for a place to stay. The central part of Elgin isn’t all that big so it is easy to walk to all the major places of interest from this bed and breakfast. The major sights of the city can be easily be seen in an afternoon so most people will probably only stay for a short while unless they want to use the area as a base for exploring other places in the surrounding country side. I am not sure if the place is actually ideal for this though there is some places not that far away which could be done as a daytrip from Elgin.
The West End B&B is located in a nice old building with a small garden and plenty of parking spaces out the back so there wasn’t any problems with finding a spot to park the car. Despite the location on a main road leading to the center the rooms was pretty quite during our stay. I suppose the traffic in a small town like Elgin will be limited most of the time and not create very much noise.
The West End B&B have a few rooms probably 5 but could be 4 or 6 as well most of them have private en suite bathroom though they do have one double room which hasn’t got a en suite bathroom. The room still has a semi private bathroom which isn’t shared with anybody else but it is located outside the room in the hallway. If you can live with this bathroom they will drop the price by about 10 pounds compared to the other rooms.
The rooms are a bit small but they got what you will need for a night with a couple of beds and night stands and a chair the room also got free Wi-Fi and obviously a television. There is a coffee and tea maker in the room as well.
There was breakfast in the morning like you expect in a traditional British bed and breakfast though I have seen bed and breakfast in other parts of the world which for some strange reason do not include breakfast so you never know. The breakfast consisted of toast and jam and a hot component of your liking which could either are a full Scottish breakfast which isn’t much different from a full English breakfast with the main difference being the inclusion of haggish in the Scottish version. The breakfast is cooked to order so if you are very busy having to leave early in the morning you should make sure you are ordering early or the night before. If you have a bit of time to wait for the breakfast it is always a good thing the food hasn’t been waiting for you getting out of bed.
