wembley plaza hotel london Jun 12, 2012
I stay at hiltons atleast 28 times a year.this wembley plaza hotel is part of the hilton chain and i will say it was the worst hilton experience ive ever had and is without a doubt the worst hilton hotel ive ever stayed at. The service was tearable and the guy smelled like he had been drinking all night.the rooms didnt have a clock and it took 3 rooms to get a phone that worked so i could get a wake-up call.normally the buffet breaksfest in europe is usally a nice selection - here not so . The location was a 10 to 15 minute walk to the nearest station.the beds were not of the hilton standard.(worst bed at a hilton ever)the bathrooms and room were clean but the hallways had a odor. This is not a great hotel.please think twice

Can't complain on the appearance - the place looks ok in the photos and nothing obvious to pick at there. The service and staff sounds quite bad. Are you sure this place is still a Hilton?

When is a Hilton not a Hilton? Oct 03, 2011
This is not the first time I have stayed at the Wembley Plaza Hotel, I have stayed here a couple of times when in London on business.

I booked the first time through the Hilton website, largely because of the good experiences I had had before with the Hilton brand. When you arrive at the hotel however there is no mention of Hilton, the hotel simply calls itself the Wembley Plaza Hotel operating to all intents and purposes as an independent.

Whichever way you look at it from the exterior, this is not a pretty building. It looks like a 1960's tower block with no architectural features to redeem it.

Once inside however things are much better and the decor is modern and inviting. The reception, bar and dining areas on the ground floor seem to have had a recent makeover and the quality is good.

My room this time was on the 8th floor and and it was quite decent considering the constraints of the original building design. Not overly large but satisfactory and clean and well presented. The bathroom was quite small and had no walk in shower, just an over bath shower, which is below par for a hotel of this standard.

For me, this hotel is very well located and it fits perfectly with my travel preferences. I prefer to drive to the outskirts of London then jump the train into the city, and this hotel is easy to get to from the major motorway network. Another major plus is that overnight parking is free for guests. It is far enough outside the centre of London for the traffic not to be too heavy and it is outside the congestion charge area. Wembley station is right outside the front door and it takes 20 minutes to get in to Marylebone Station and the centre of London on the regular Chiltern trains service.

It is of course also very well placed for Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena so it must be considered if going to a game or event at either of these venues.

I have not yet tried the restaurant at the hotel as Wembley has an amazing choice of world cuisine at the many restaurants in either direction from the hotel.

All in all this is a decent hotel if you can live with the confusing branding and the first impressions of that ugly building. Get past that and you will find that the staff are friendly, and the rooms are comfortable if a little small.

Well located but not great looking! Jun 23, 2011
I stayed at this hotel at the start of 2011 as it was really close to where I was starting a running race. When I originally booked this place online it said it was a Hilton and when I got there there was no sign it was. I found that a bit misleading and I wasn't actually I sure I'd found the right hotel!

The rooms were quite nice though although the decor was getting quite old and in need of a revamp! The view from the window wasn't exactly fantastic as it was a view of a building site! Another bad thing about it was if you are staying at a weekend then it is likely there will be a great deal of noise from an event at Wembley. This is not ideal if you have to be up in the morning for any reason!

The food was good but it was quite expensive for a three course dinner which was basically a buffet! The staff were really friendly though so it made up for it!

The hotel itself was quite expensive too and the main reason I stayed was for the location! I've stayed in quite a few hotels and this one was very average!
