OLE COVERED WAGON TOUR
Saturday, October 1, 2016
One of the highlights of our bus tour was the outing OLE COVERED WAGON TOURS. Of course it was pouring rain, but we were on a covered wagon with padded seats and open sides for viewing. Our wagons were pulled by big, powerful and beautiful Belgian Draft Horses.
It was a two-hour ride along the valley of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.. There were about two dozen people aboard the two wagons.
We followed a trail along the river and got to see Blue Herons and a beautiful Bald Eagle. looking majestic, perched atop a tall dead tree . Hans managed to get a short video of him which he posted on Facebook.
After about an hour, we all got off, so the driver could turn the wagons around. At this time I managed to get a great picture of the second covered wagon and the beautiful horses.
This was a great tour and highly recommended
Wagon rides start at the head of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon in Ansonia - 12 miles west of Wellsboro on Marsh Creek Road - first home - family farm -on the left.

Our group went on a Train Excursion aboard the TIOGA CENTRAL RAILROAD.
Trains depart from Wellsboro Junction 3 miles north of Wellsboro on Route 287.
We made our way on board and headed to the dining car where the tables were all set up for us to enjoy our lunch on the train. There were 48 of us all together. Most excursions go for a 24 mile round trip to the north end of Hammond Lake and back. Although it was a rainy oevrcast day, the scenery was quite beautiful, with the mountains in the distance.
Lunch was served very efficiently by the wonderful On Board Services crew. They are there to serve meals and to answer questions.
Our lunch consisted of Turkey slices, stuffing, gravy and zucchini slices. Beverages were your choice of iced tea or lemonade. And dessert was your choice of cherry or blueberry cheese cake.
All in all a wonderful experience.
