Weinstube Kesselstatt Trier Reviews
A Must experience when in the beautiful City of Trier ! Oct 24, 2013
After a decade spent in England, Luxembourg or the 3 borders country as I call it, lead me to explore the its neighbour countries such as France, Belgium and of course Germany.
I remember vividly one of my French Pals David asking me to take a picture of a traditional German Weinstube or Wine Tavern when I will be travelling through Germany and not many places hit the mark as well as the Weinstube Kesselstatt, in Trier.
All those who have experienced the amazingly beautiful City of Trier, know that it really has the Wow factor for its magnificent architectural ensemble of the HauptMarktPlatz in which you will find many cafés and restaurants but the Kesselstatt, located just a few hundred meters away, is real gem and well kept secret of its own.
Located in the beautiful Kesselstatt palace, it has not only a traditional, inviting & cosy indoor space with huge barrels which remind you of the many vineyards surrounding the City which produce an excellent Riesling white wine, but also a wonderful outside courtyard surrounded by grape vines which are coming into flames in the Automn overlooking the imposing and magnificent Cathedral.
For ordering, huge blackboards with suggestions of the day ranging from homemade soups to traditional dishes and yummy desserts are available at a very reasonable price since a main course does not exceed 5 to 7 Euros.
The service is friendly and within a few minutes you can enjoy your meal while sitting at the terrace.
A truly great experience and a Must when visiting Trier !
