Beautiful Houses May 13, 2009

The Wedding Cake House is a beautiful example of the architecture in New Orleans. This house is just one stop along a street of gorgeous homes that you shouldn’t miss. The homes are located a short distance from Magazine Street, Tulane University and Loyola University. Also, a trolley runs along the street if you want to take a ride.

White frosting never looked so good! Apr 24, 2008

Located at 5809 St Charles Street in the Garden District of New Orleans is this very ostentatious Victorian revival mansion with layers of balconies, cornices and columns, all painted white, making it look like a giant wedding cake. Built in 1896 this is one of the most prominent and recognizable residences along this wonderful boulevard of dream homes. It has recently gone through a full restoration estimated at six million dollars which included both interior and exterior and even added a new rear entry vestibule and stair. Landscaping has also been completely changed. The home is presently owned by an Attorney.

I went by the Wedding Cake House and I will happily move in there if anyone will let me. I also saw the smallest house with it's own postal address. Save your time and skip that. It's basically a kid's playhouse. Other attractions I visited… Garden District
