Weber Grill Chicago Reviews
Weber Grill Aug 24, 2010
Weber’s Grill is a barbecue themed restaurant in downtown Chicago, and it is quite nice. The food is lovely and comes in huge portion sizes, and the waitress was great. This was especially nice because there were about 15 of us and we wanted to split the cheque, and she was lovely about it. The kitchen is open and you can see the chefs working, which was good fun, although it does mean that you are tormented by the great smells until your dinner turns up! There is a nice selection of drinks. The décor and atmosphere are both a bit busy, and this certainly isn’t a place you’d go for a date, but it’s a good place to come if you are with a group of friends and want some barbecue style food. Take away is available.

I went here based on a foodie friend's recommendation and was told there would be excellent meat to be had.
so, i braved the whipping winds of and snow flurries falling on chicago on this cold winter day.
the service was friendly and prompt. good sign. didn't like the smoking inside but this should not be an issue come january 1, 2008 when the state's ban on smoking inside restaurants and bars takes effect.
i had a combo meal: pulled pork over white bread and baby back ribs. the combo also came with cornbread, beans and slaw. i paired it with the woop woop shiraz.
the baby back ribs was very good. i enjoyed the smokey goodness and it was very lean and meaty. it did not fall off the bone but it was pretty damn yummy. the bbq sauce also had a nice tanginess.
the pulled pork, on the other hand, was disappointing. i guess i expected more -- it wasn't warm enough, and it also was not so tender.
the beans - i am really not a fan of beans but this was good. apparently, it's got jim beam bourbon.
the coleslaw -- this was more pickled tasting. i am glad it was not drenched in mayo, like most slaws.
i enjoyed the cornbread. it was moist, sweet and came in a generous portion. i was very happy with the cornbread.
the shiraz went well with the meat.
overall, this place is good. it could have been loads better but for the pulled pork. i expected to be blown away. oh well.
