When should one travel to St. Lucia? Hmmm. Mar 15, 2011
The hurricane season is generally from June 1st to October; this means rain from June to October and even into December! Hurricanes tend to stay up higher north in the Caribbean and a major storm may hit St. Lucia once every 20 years. Although it is out of the main path for hurricanes, it still remains the rainy season. However, rain in the West Indies is different than rain in the States...

...The sky may be sunny and bright and will begin to suddenly rain and only last 7 or 8 minutes. There are cloudy days where is could rain most of the day and a forecast of "scattered thundershowers" could mean it will rain once every 3 hours for just a few minutes-it is very weird. So, if you're coming for a honeymoon (for which St. Lucia is popular for), a rainy day might be a good day to stay inside, wink, wink. If you're coming for a girlfriend's getaway weekend (like I did), then you have to be flexible with your itinerary.

High season is October to March-ish, but that of course means higher rates for everything and crowded hotels, so you have to pick the lesser of 2 evils.

I came in early August and the weather was fine; lots of sun intermingled with enough rain not to ruin our trip. Try your luck!

St. Lucia Travel Times Mar 09, 2011
After having a wonderful time in St. Lucia, I had to make a note of the best travel dates. We went in July, it is considered their slow season and it was wonerful. The island was almost empty, not crowded at all. Once a day there will be like a three minutes thunderstorm that will pass quicky and then the sun is out again!
