Weary Traveler Hostel Mexico Cancun Reviews
The Weary Traveler Hostel Dec 17, 2009
The Weary Traveler Hostel has 8 dorm rooms. Four of the dorm rooms are air conditioned the other four have fans only. Each dorm room has one bathroom. The fan only dorm beds are about $10.00 per night, the dorm beds with air conditioning are about $14.00 per nights. Some of the private rooms are in a near by building just down the street. A private room with a fan and shared bathroom is about $20.00 per night. A private room with a fan and an in-room bathroom is about $25.00 per night. A private room with air conditioning and an in-room bathroom is about $30.00 per night.
The Weary Traveler Hostel offers a self serve breakfast that includes all the fixings for pancakes, eggs, toast, cereal, tea and coffee. The kitchen is designed and equipped to handle the demand of a self serve breakfast. The patio kitchen is also equipped with a barbeque grill that is make available each evening. The Weary Traveler Hostel staff maintains and affordable inventory of barbeque type food stuffs.
The Weary Traveler Hostel facility includes WIFI, purified water, free shuttle service to the beach and back twice daily, bike rental, A roof top terrace with a small bar and kitchen, television and pool lounge, laundry, handicap accesses, sheets, towels, lockers, 24/7 reception, luggage storage, common areas, no curfew, bike parking, 64 beds, 17 showers, 9 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
I have only stayed at the Weary Traveler Hostel on one occasion and that was in a private air conditioned room. However, I have visited the weary Traveler Hostel many times picking up or dropping off travel partners. I found the place to be a good value, friendly and the staff is very knowledgeable of the Cancun area. The mornings and evenings on the roof top patio are very social and friendly. There is a quiet time curfew for the patio, 12 midnight. So if you are one that goes to bed early, you may a some trouble getting to sleep. My travel partner have a wide range of opinions about the Weary Traveler Hostel. They range from one partner bailing out after the first night with claims of bed bugs to many returning to use the Weary Traveler Hostel for their home base while exploring the northern Yucatan.
