A lively, busy bar in Old Town, this bar, I’ve been told, is one of the most popular in Nice. Wood décor throughout, it’s the written rule, that when the live band starts, you get up and dance on the tabletops and benches. The live band, mainly playing classic rock and pop cover tunes, plays on a small stage in front of a loud, crazy, and mostly young crowd. We spent HOURS here, and had a fantastic time.

 An Aussie Bar in France May 18, 2005
Wayne's Bar is located in Nice, France.
It is an Aussie Bar. We went here with our Contiki group in 2005. The entire staff here are all Australian. The waitress who served us was very good, named Britney. We arrive around 730pm as there was still happy hour for another hour till 830pm. Drinks were about 7 euros at happy hour. So almost a bargain, lol. After that it was 10 euros or more for drink. However, by that time, we were quite blasted and did not care anymore of the costs. This place was quite cool, even though it was a tourist bar. You are not allowed to dance on the floor. But for dancing you have to stand on the chairs and tables to dance. So eventually we all were dancing on the tables and falling off the ceiling. There was a big live band playing and it was quite good, as well some Do it yourself singing was available as well. We were drinking some type of french brand of beer all night and some Long Islands. So It was a messy night in the end. The music seemed quite well, but the washroom was up some stairs and in a tight corner. Not the best situation after a few drinks, as I almost fell down the stairs a few times. Overall it can be a fun place to go and have a wild evening out. Why you come so far away? Are you on holiday?" Hehe I almost forgot that they say "holiday" instead of "vacation" in Europe. Well, I'm meeting with Cindy again tonight and she's bringing me to a popular English bar called Wayne's Bar . It should be fun ! =)

After dinner, we went to Wayne’s Bar, this time early enough to get a table (around 7:30), and just in time for Happy Hour. We drank and dance until the bar closed, then we walked back to the hotel. Nice is a happy place. The weather was great… DAY 8- Nice |

…then just going to go back to the hotel for an early night, but we got convinced by some of the group to go to a local pub, called Wayne's bar. It was only a short walk away and before long our bartender was walking along our table feeding us cocktails!! We stayed there for a few hours but left around midnight.
