Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night when I had my Davao Trip. Though I got my room for a discounted rate (2,000/night/room), I must say that the hotel amenities, service and food are just average. Should I paid for the entire amount of the room (about 4,800 or so), it should not have been worth it.

The buffet selection was limited, even the fruits for dessert was limited considering that it's Davao already where fruits abound.

What is OK though is its near Marina, the jump off for Pearl Farm.

Davao's best seaside hotel basks in Southern Mindanao's fair, typhoon-free weather -- replete with greenery and nature, and all the peace and quiet travelers need at the end of the day.

It is close to the international airport, the business, shopping and entertainment enclaves downtown, as well as pristine Samal Island just across the channel. If you want to stay put, there are a number of exquisite in-house restaurants and bars, so you don't need to get in a cab to wine and dine.

Its far-from-new infrastructure is showing some signs of aging, however. The air-conditioning system is antiquated and loud. It has a nice beachfront but the beach has long been decommissioned and no longer recommended for wading and swimming in, but then again Samal Island is just minutes away...

Waterfront Insular Hotel is one of the best hotels in the city of Davao.

What i love the most in this hotel is that here you will find the friendliest hotel staff ever - with ready smiles and always willing to be of service.. I can never forget the sign they have in one of the hotel walls (am not sure if I got this correctly but it's the same thought: in these halls walk honest and good employees - definitely the same thought but not the exact words).

The hotel which is located in Lanang, Davao is conveniently located near the airport and overlooking Davao Gulf and Samal Island, It is also a boat-ride away from another great destination - the Pearl Farm.

However, it its quiet a distance from the heart of the city, however, there is always ready transportation for everyone PLUS the hotel has many amenities and facilities, among which are :

The swimming pool surrounded by lush gardens and a view of the beach (sad to say tho that it is not recommended to swim in the beach - SAMAL island is on the other side tho so there's the alternative)

Jogging path, tennis and basketball courts, the Mandaya Weaving Center and Souvenir Shop and the Vinta Bar for night life :)

For accommodation, they have sprawling international standard first class hotel with four low rise buildings and 157 guestrooms including 11 suites. Rates are much lower than Marco Polo and Royal Mandaya but equally comfortable rooms :)

It's great also that the hotel offers wonderful services such as airport transfers, beauty salon, business center, car rental and city transport, Foreign currency exchange, laundry and valet, Multilingual hotel staff, safety deposit boxes and tour desk.
