Waterfalls Tour of Kauai by Safari Helicopters

We lived in Hawaii for 4 years and visited all the Islands of Hawaii. The best thing we did was book Safari Helicopters to see the thousands of waterfalls on the Island of Kauai, Hawaii. If you book on-line you get a discount that covers the cost of the video they make during your flight. The other companies will give you a free video but it usually is the same video professionally shot years ago and copied. Safari Helicopters is the best because they film your flight for you with 5 cameras on the outside, activated by a toggle switch on the pilot's flight controls. Although Safari Helicopters also did a great job overflying the active volcano vents on the Big Island out of Hilo, Hawaii which was also fascinating, we found the waterfalls surrounding the entire helicopter in the caldera on Kauai which is the wettest spot on Earth with over 422 inches of rain annually to make great waterfalls to be our best experience in all of our global travels so far! The flight starts in the county capital of Lihue and you are immediately treated with the exact same opening scene from Jurassic Park by dropping into a valley and the first huge waterfall appears in front of you! After dipping down into Waimea Canyon, "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific," you can see the Forbidden Island of Niihau. Then you circle around the steep and foreboding Napali Coastline, the taro fields of the North Shore, and then into the ancient volcano caldera with a 360-degree view of waterfalls surrounding all sides of the helicopter. Before landing back at Lihue you overfly Waimea Falls and the falls used in the backdrop for the 70's TV show Fantasy Island. Safari Helicopters then adds peaceful Hawaiian music to your personalized flight video. A great experience for the price which was reasonable compared to other helicopter experiences in Hawaii.
