Watching street life from a roof in Marrakesh Oct 31, 2013
When in Marrakesh you should take the time to watch life go by in the streets around the city. Try to find a roof and from where you can look down on a busy street and see what is going on down there. If you got a bit of patience there will be some uniquely North African scenes going on below.
The advantage of sitting on top of a roof is people doesn’t seem to be too influenced by your camera and will behave more naturally from up on the roof.
We were eating our breakfast at our hotel and then we just looked out at main pedestrian street inside the old medina. Down there a lot of things are happening - there are a lot of people going along with lots of different supplies - from water over water to the tourist bags being shuttled along the street.
Also the less fortunate people of the city or nearby country side walk up or down the street asking for alms. In addition to all the people who just use the street to get them from one place to another place in the city.
