Watch Your Person in the Sinai Reviews
May 06, 2007
Lots of hippy divers decide to spend time camping on the beaches of the Red Sea in the Sinai desert (i.e. me). Word up to the wise: don't smoke hash or get drunk when you do. Lots of people have their passports/cash/visas (both monetary and travel related) stolen. That might also be the least of your problems - every year a half dozen or so travellers go missing in that area and are never heard of again. Ransoms are put up on websites and then that's the last you hear of their whereabouts. I'm not trying to be a fear mongerer but these are things I have been told by locals and other regular travelers in the area. Like always, keep your wits about you. So lay off the drugs and booze and watch your person in the Sinai.
